im only 21. but somehow i dig the evergreen classic oldies tunes. perhaps my parents play a role in influencing me with such interest. maybe they used to lullaby me with these kinda songs back then. nevertheless, i appreciate and enjoy these songs. you gotta admit the melodious and harmonious sound that they bring. whenever you are in stress or in the middle of revision, i highly recommend you to tune in to these kinda tunes rather than digging on the current screamo beat.
let me take you back to about 10 years ago. i used to be those die hard fan of r'n'b, hip hop and rap. through rap, i could learn a lot simply just by reading its lyrics. that was how i could understand the gangsta's slangs. other than that, there were also history lessons in it. some of the rappers would mention icons such as che guevara and malcolm X. my curiosity would grow and hence, causing me to google on them. besides that, what i like about the lyrics was the expression that it brings. during my stressed out moments, i would try to challenge myself to memorise them and would make me feel better after that. yea, i love memory challenge. hehe
i am not sure why but somehow current trend of music does not interest me that much. i would rather go youtubing and search for the past hits. i cant imagine though how it would be when i am 60 years old and listening to backstreet boys in the future. i must be very cute! :p
ever since i was young, music was like my bestfriend. there was once when i dreamed of being a radio deejay. i wanted to play my favourite songs and give other people the chance to enjoy them. i was also frustrated with some djs for not being able to diversify their playbacks. they liked to air on the same songs all over again. i guess that is why the current hitsongs can irritate me easily. come on Mr Dj! do your role as an entertainer! there are millions of good songs around. so, be creative with your choice!
ok. buzzing out! chiaw
